Jean-Michel Basquiat • Jean-Michel Basquiat was a mixed media artist with both Puerto Rican and Haitian heritage, born and raised in New York City.

MIXED MEDIA PORTRAIT • Jean-Michel Basquiat was fascinated by human heads, and painted many head portraits. His style was fluid and free, mixing different materials, which helped to convey a sense of emotion, and show what the subject of the portrait might be thinking or feeling.
